We may have already said this a couple of times throughout this piece, but this one’s by far the best pool noodle hack we’ve come across. You can actually build your own pom-pom shooter with just a piece of pool noodle, a balloon, and some tape.
Cut the noodle into the appropriate size, then tie the balloon, cut it in the middle and slide the remaining half one of the openings of the pool noodle. Fasten the balloon to the noodle with some tape, and you have yourself the coolest toy ever.
The Foam Knights
Feel like using pool noodles to help your kid become a make-believe warrior extraordinaire? Or, better yet, become one yourselves? All you need are some pool noodles, PVC, and duct tape. You can make various types of swords and go wild with individual variations, shapes, and colors!
The principle is simple: use PVC of the wanted length as the sword's "backbone," then slide the pool noodle over it, cutting it to fit and leaving a few inches of exposed PVC as the handle. Once you're all done with that, just wrap your marvelous creation with a ton of duct tape.
A Car Roof Rack
Here's one of the more useful hacks you can do with pool noodles – nothing kooky or funny, we're all about pure pragmatism here! If you're into carrying stuff on top of your car but are less into paying money for a car roof rack, just use pool noodles to build one yourself. But FYI – it's not going to be easy and will require a few hours of work.
If you feel like you're up for the challenge, you'll need two pool noodles, an aluminum tube, rubber chair tips, and some loading straps. Oh, and an electric drill. Wear eye protection.
A Cable Holder
We all know that pile of messy cables dangling from behind our desk all the way down to the floor. Yes, we could simply buy a cable holder – or whatever it is they call it – but why buy one when we can get creative and make it ourselves using a pool noodle?
If you're like us – as in, prefer to use random arts and crafts instead of overcomplicating mundane things – use this hack for your own pile of messy cables. Just cut the noodle to the required length, cut an opening for the cables, and you're all set.
No More Bed Bruises
Do you find that you always end up accidentally bruising yourselves every time you pass by the edge of your bed? Here's another fantastic and wholesome use for a pool noodle for ya!
All you have to do is cut it to the appropriate length, then cut it down the middle on one side, and slide it over that annoying, sharp piece of hell at the corner of the bed. You'll thank us. Again and again.
Door Childproofing
If you have little kids or just have sweet, hyper-energetic nieces and nephews running around your house every now and then, this pool noodle hack will be a lifesaver (well, for them, at least). Just cut a piece down the middle and place it on the side of the door where it opens and closes.
You can do this in every room of the house or just where you know toddlers will be running about. The end to tiny fingers being accidentally caught in doors!
Kitchenware Protection
Getting ready to move? Your stuff might need some extra protection so they don't get ruined, scratched, or otherwise damaged along the way.
Here's a particularly original way of packing your pans for the big move: you guessed it – pool noodles! It's as if they were made to wrap kitchen pans! Forget about bubble wrap, there's just no way to beat this polyfoam pool noodles protection, y'all.
Don't Step on the Line Set!
Line sets, also known as "those big black pipe-looking cables coming out of your AC", are not something you want to step on. We know, line sets look all strong and bulky, but the truth is, they're pretty sensitive on the inside – and on the outside, too – and it's best to protect them from any physical damage.
But have no fear, the pool noodle is here! Just wrap your line set with a pool noodle, and that should take care of everything, not just the cable, but everything that's wrong with your life.
An Alternative Pet Cone
Do you need to keep your sweet dog from scratching, biting, or licking the skin around its head and neck? Are you totally (like, totally!) not into the whole Elizabethan-collar-looking-like-a-megaphone type thing most dog owners go for, here's a lovely solution for you: just make your own protective collar using pool noodle pieces!
You simply cut the pool noodle into more-or-less even rings, slide them on a regular collar, and voila! Oh, and don't forget to actually place it around your dog's neck.
Car Door Protector
Do you have super annoying neighbors that always park their car wayyy too close to yours (and inconsiderately open their car door straight into your beautiful car)? Maybe you're just used to parking in public lots where nobody really gives a damn? Either way, you're going to appreciate this one.
After you park, just grab a pool noodle from the back of your car and fixate it to the side of the vehicle. Zero door scratching, guaranteed.
Improved Drum Sound
What do pool noodles have to do with playing the drums? You may ask. Well, quite a lot – we will gladly answer. If you're a musician and have some drum recording to do for your next single or whatnot, pool noodles are made out of the perfect isolation material!
Just place some pool noodle pieces on your microphones, press record, and see what happens. You won't believe the results.
Baby Bumpers
If you're a young parent, you probably know that annoying situation where you have to change your baby's diaper, and… well, it ain't fun. The little rugrats simply won't stop moving, bumping different body parts on the side of the changing table! Honestly, what are they feeding them at daycare?
Anyway, if you're one of these poor parents – boy, have we got something for you. Just use a pool noodle to cover the sides of the changing table, and you'll never have to worry about your baby hurting their head.
Exercise Enhancement
Ever heard of "Fat Gripz"? Well, if you're not in the exercise loop, let us fill you in: it's just a couple of pipe-shaped things you put on dumbbells to increase the diameter of the handle. Why would you want to do that? Well, apparently, increasing the diameter puts more effort on your arms, enhancing their growth while weightlifting.
Anyway, instead of buying expensive professional sports equipment, you can just create your own Fat Gripz with a pool noodle! How cool is that?
Stormy Weather? Grab a Poole Noodle!
The weather can damage the outside of our cars, especially if we're talking about sharp pieces of hail splattering against the windshield. But fear no more, since a bunch of heroic pool noodles should do the trick and protect your car from any harm.
You'll need to tie, like, 40 pool noodles together – but we promise it'll be worth it. And it also looks kind of pretty! What have you got to lose?
Boot-Keeping
If you just love boots – and lord knows we do – this pool noodle hack would be perfect for you. Boots are awesome, but the thing is, to maintain their original awesome shape and structure, they need some extra TLC even when we're not wearing them (though we wish we could wear them literally all the time).
Here's a quick, simple fix for that: just cut some pool noodles into the appropriate size (a piece for each boot), place them inside your lovely boots, and the magic will happen on its own.
Makeup Brush Dryer
We love our makeup so much, but we might like our makeup brushes even a tiny bit better. There are so many of them, small, large, thick or slim, pointy, and… well, you get the picture.
If you care for the well-being of your makeup brushes as much as we do, you'll love this pool noodle-y hack: just take a pool noodle, cut some thin-but-not-too-deep slashes in it, and stick your makeup brushes in the slashes to dry. You're very welcome!
Feet Care
As a little kid, not many things beat having a super cool bunk bed, especially if you're the one to sleep on top and get to climb a kickass ladder to get there! It's almost like having a treehouse (okay, we may have gotten slightly carried away here).
Anyway, back to the matter at hand – the only problem with such a bed is having to climb the stiff ladder steps with bare feet. Enter pool noodles! Just cut pool noodle pieces down the middle, slide them around the steps of the ladder, and put an end to sore little feet.
DIY STEM Bin
Looking to create a homemade STEM bin for your kids to play with? Here's a super simple, fun way to do it: just cut different colored pool noodles into small pieces (they should end up looking like somewhat foamy, colorful doughnuts).
Add a pile of toothpicks to the mix – and you have yourself the foamy version of building blocks. Just don't forget to warn your kids before you let them play with toothpicks. Best of luck!
Party Decorations
Who wants to actually buy decorations for their party? Seriously, making them yourself is SO much more fun. One of the cheapest things to make party ornaments from is, obviously, pool noodles! Did we already mention how great pool noodles are?
The easiest, most natural party decoration you can make from them is decorative garlands, but feel free to go crazy with some other ideas, too. This is a great way to let your creativity out and discover new ways to decorate!
Pool Noodle Christmas Wreaths
Getting tired of traditional Christmas decorations, year in and year out? Looking for an original-looking wreath to hang on your door this Christmas? Well, whaddayaknow, pool noodles can be perfect for that one, too.
The flexibility of pool noodles, along with the many color possibilities allow for quite a lot of diversity and creativity there. Start by making a circular shape out of your pool noodle, and just let your creativity take you from there.
A Coordination Development Aid for Toddlers
Yes, you are reading correctly – these are pool noodles we're talking about under this very fancy title! Who could have possibly imagined?
It turns out that you can easily use pool noodles to create pretty, colorful, and useful arches for little kids to crawl under, which helps them develop their bilateral coordination. We're not sure what bilateral coordination is, but we know it's really important! So go ahead and buy some pool noodles, guys. Hurry.
Trampoline Childproofing
As you can probably tell from this super-useful article, the number one thing pool noodles are great for is childproofing various objects! From house doors to car doors and beds, pool-noodle-childproofing is all the rage right now.
Well, apparently, they're also wonderful for childproofing the outer edge of a trampoline in case the original cover gets ruined (which often happens after a few months of children hopping on it). You can even mix up different colors to have it look nicer!
Dog Safety
If you're a kind enough person to rescue a dog who's been physically hurt (did anyone say 'saint'?), you might be familiar with dog wheelchairs. Yes, there are wheelchairs for dogs, not only for people – and thank God for that, since they're super helpful! However, every now and then, your cute dog might get scratched or cut by the metal of the wheelchair.
To keep that from happening, well, you already know what to do – cover the edges with pieces of pool noodle, of course.
Water Play
Pool noodles are the perfect water play for an insanely hot day – in more ways than one. Yes, there's that boring traditional way they're actually supposed to be used – inside a pool – but that's not what we're all here for.
If you want to keep your kid busy and having fun on a hot day, you can just put a funnel on the top end of a pool noodle and let them spill water into it until they see the water come out on the other end. Hey, we didn't promise any sophistication. But it's a lot of fun!
No More Rolling Out of Bed at Night
If you have a kid who's having trouble keeping still in their sleep and tend to literally roll out of their bed and onto the floor – all you really need is a pool noodle. We kid you not (and hope you can appreciate a mediocre pun).
Just take a pool noodle, shove it under the bedsheet on the end of the bed facing the inside of the room, and you have yourself a bona fide sleep bumper. Try it – it works like a charm!
Faux Wood
Hey, why use actual wood for your home decoration pieces when you can work hard and break a sweat making pretend-birch-wood out of pool noodles plus an assortment of other stuff?
If we haven't already said so – arts and crafts rule, and we obviously think you should go for option no. 2, hands down. All you'll need other than a pool noodle is a mod podge, brown paper stripes, toilet paper, and acrylic paint. Godspeed!
Animal Crutches
Will you look at that sweet, sweet baby goat with its handmade leg support!? We dare you not to swoon while looking at it. If you're keen on knowing how to make this yourself, we've got the answer: a pool noodle, gym socks, and vet tape.
We know you don't really come across animals needing improvised leg support every day, but when you do – it's best to be ready. Or at least, so we believe.
Fishing Pole Protection
Those of us who fish know how annoying it is to store your rod only to go back to it later and find it distorted or with a broken tip.
But we'll have you know that pool noodles are the cure, once again! All you need to do is cut through the middle of a pool noodle, carefully slide it over the rod of your fishing pole, and voila! A fishing pole protector, reporting for duty. How awesome is that?
Sandbox Banister
This one is only for extra-devoted parents, but hey, we're here to speak to sideline minorities, too! If you're an amazing enough parent to build your kid their very own sandbox – as depicted in the picture before you – you'll probably need to childproof the sharp wooden edges around it to make sure no one gets hurt while playing.
What could be more perfect for the job than soft pool noodles? Also, you can make it super colorful this way! We love it.
Pool Cup Holder
Omg, as helpless pool addicts, this one's by far our favorite one! If you're anything like us, you know nothing can beat the joy of hanging in a cool pool of water in the scorching heat.
A pool experience can never be perfect without a cold, refreshing beverage next to you. But alas! How can you keep your drink around without having to go through the trouble of actually holding it all the time? Here's a perfect solution: a cup holder made out of pool noodles. The image speaks for itself, so we'll stop here.
Swim Barbell
If your kid is now going through that learning-how-to-swim phase, well, first of all – our deepest sympathy. Now that we got that out of the way, let's talk practically, shall we? A swim barbell is an awesome pool accessory to provide a child with some support while still learning how to swim.
If you're not able to find one a the store – just make it yourselves! It only requires a PVC pipe and a pool noodle. Super simple!
Winter Plant Protector
Extra-cold winters can be truly harsh on houseplants, and we're here to provide you with the simplest of hacks to save yours from falling victim to this year's frosty months.
All you need is – surprise – a pool noodle! Just cut it and insert the stem (carefully so you don't accidentally damage it). It's so simple, and it can save your beautiful flowers and plants. Oh, pool noodles, how lovely you are.
Impromptu Obstacle Course
Okay, before we share the next pool noodle hack with you, we need to confess something: we've never had a horse, nor ridden one!
Shocking, we know. But some of us (the rich and luckier ones, probably) are horse owners, and as such are probably in desperate need of some new trail practicing ideas! So, here's a cheap and cool one: create an impromptu multi-colored obstacle out of pool noodles.
Team Building Accessories
You might look at this pool noodle hack and be like "well, this is utterly random" – and we can't blame you. But give it a chance, will you?
Pool noodles are great for a lot of things, and apparently, you can also use them to strengthen collaboration and creativity on a more physical level. Just split into groups, have each group grab a pool noodle, and start playing with it or come up with alternative uses for it. Magical things might happen!
Van Pipe Protector
If there's one lesson we want you to take from this article, it's that pool noodles kick ass at protecting things! So, here's yet another example of this undeniable truth: apparently, they are great for protecting those exposed pipes under your van. If you have a van, that is, and why shouldn't you have one, are we right?
Anyways, if you have one, you don't want those pipes getting damaged by random rocks in the middle of the road. Just cover them with pool noodles, and you're all set.
TV Stand Childproofing
When you have a baby, the number of sharp corners you have to cover to protect them is endless. They lie still at first, but as time goes by, those little creatures become more active and curious, which means you can't afford to be caught off guard!
One of the areas they spend the most time in during the day is the living room, where there's often a TV; and where there's a TV, there tends to be a TV stand, which has… yep, corners! So hurry up and cover those corners with a piece of pool noodle, will you?
Canopy Protector
If you like to go camping, you are probably the proud owner of a canopy. There's a lot to be said for canopies but they're not the most rain-proof thing out there. If your canopy needs rain or wind protection to remain tight, stable, and refrain from being ruined, pool noodles can do the trick for you.
Just stick it under the corners of the canopy in a semicircle, and your canopy will be sure to weather any storm.
The Perfect Headboard
We're honestly not sure how we didn't come up with this one sooner, but this hack totally changed our lives! Are you not sick of hurting your head when you accidentally bump it into the stiff headboard, time and time again? Well, it turns out you can just make your own DIY headboard from pool noodles, some rafters, and a large piece of fabric.
Other than the coolness of making your own headboard, and how pretty the result is – it also means that you pretty much can't get hurt by it! How genuinely comforting.
DIY Pouf Ottoman
Pouf ottomans are super cool, both to sit on and just have around the house to create that nonchalant lounging vibe (we may have just invented a term, go with it). And yes, you can simply buy a pouf, but that would take half the fun out of it.
We think making a pouf is just so much better, and it also means you're free to go wild with the cover. So, how do pool noodles fit into that? Perfectly: just take a bunch of pool noodles, glue them together standing up, then cover them with the fabric of your choice.
Anti-Insect Barrier
No one wants to have cockroaches, or, God forbid, mice entering their home from underneath the door! Frankly, just talking about it send chills through our body. But hey, there's no need to be afraid of tiny invaders any longer.
Just cut a pool noodle and attach it to the bottom of your door, blocking the small space between the bottom of the door and the floor. There'll be zero invading from now on, we can assure you.
DIY Solar Sun Rings
The creativity that pool noodles inspire in people blows our minds time and time again! We've recently discovered that you can actually make your own pool heating rings from scratch, using hula hoops, pool noodles, and black trash bags.
We don't personally know whoever came up with this hack, but we think they should be recognized for their genius, coming up with such a creative homemade solution while managing to keep the "pool" in "pool noodles."
Paint Brush Holder
We must admit that painting is not among our (many) talents. However, we can definitely appreciate those with good painting skills – not to mention, be insanely jealous of them – and we have sympathy for their distresses, too.
We know how frustrating it must be having to switch between so many different paint brushes while painting — some wet, some dry, some clean, some dirty. But no more paintbrush frustration: all you need is to cut slashes in a piece of pool noodle, and you have a swell paintbrush holder to solve your problem.
Add Some Volume to Your Curtains
A burning passion for home décor is nothing to be ashamed of, and we definitely have it. One of the best home-décor hacks we've encountered lately happens to have to do with, what else, pool noodles (well, this is an article about pool noodle hacks, after all).
Do you know that shapeless, dangly look your curtains get when you hang them sideways? Well, no more! With just one pool noodle on each side, your curtains will look SO much better.
Carrier Handle Enhancement
If you're not a parent, feel free to skip to the hack. But if you are: tired of the baby carrier handle digging into your arm?
All you need is a pool noodle! Cut it according to the size of your carrier handle, then create a cut along the side and slide the pool noodle piece(s) on the annoying handle. And there you have it – a foamy cover to make sure your arms are safe and sound at all times.
Pool Noodles for Math Practice
Yes, we're being serious, and this hack is effing cool and we honestly cannot get how no one thought of this when we were at school. To help your kids or students practice fractions, all you need are a few colorful pool noodles.
Just divide the noodles into even pieces depending on the fraction you'd like to demonstrate and write it down on each individual piece. This kinda makes us wish we were in school again. Well, okay, not really but like, almost.
Pom-Pom Shooter
We may have already said this a couple of times throughout this piece, but this one's by far the best pool noodle hack we've come across.
Toy Car Ramp
This article makes us wish we were kids again just so we could try all the super awesome toy hacks using pool noodles.
Here's a particularly cool one: just take a hollow pool noodle, cut it in half, place it on the stairs and slide your toy cars down the amazingly fun ramp you just made. We mean, have your kids slide their toy cars down the ramp. Yep. Well, you get it.
Pin Cushion
Pool noodles, pool noodles, is there ever an end to the number of things we can use them for? We think not.
With this super simple hack, you can take a piece of pool noodle, cut it down the middle and attach it to your dressing table or desk, then use it as a pincushion! Seriously, who needs a proper pincushion when you can just stick a bunch of pins into a purple piece of a pool noodle? It's oddly satisfying!
Tennis Rackets
Let your unused pool noodles turn into the tennis rackets you never knew you needed! Why? Just because it's SO cool and creative!
All you'll need to turn this dream of a hack into a lovely reality is... pool noodles, recycled plastic nets, and tape. With very little effort, you can turn those everyday things into fine tennis rackets everyone will fall for. Don't forget where you learned about it first.
Laundry Crease Prevention
It's such a bummer hanging your clean laundry to dry on a rack, only to find out later that it created crease lines when it's dried. But hey, this doesn't need to be the case!
Next time, before you hang your laundry to dry, cut a pool noodle and slide it onto one of the rods, and only then place your wet clothes on top. This should take care of the creasing issue!
Improvised Hose
You know that annoying situation where you want to fill a bucket with water so you can clean the house (even though you really don't have the time or energy to clean the house, because, who does?), but the bucket won't fit into your small sink, and you're like oh my god could my life suck any more than this?
So, we've got a solution for you! Simply attach one end of a pool noodle to the end of the tap (where the water comes out), place the other end inside your bucket, and let the water run. Using a pool noodle as a hose? That's magic right there!
Thorn Buster
Do you suffer from numerous bullhead thorns in your backyard? Do you want to get rid of them with all your heart and might? Great, because we know just how to!
Simply grab a pool noodle, attach it to a mop handle or a paint roller, then roll it on the ground. The bullhead thorns will just stick to it on their own! We think that's no short of being a lifesaver.
Jewelry Holder
We don't know about you, but we have a ton of jewelry, and never enough room to hang it. How cool was it if you could have just made a jewelry hanger yourselves in seconds by just using pool noodles and unused paper towel holders? Oh, wait. You can!
Just grab an old paper towel holder (we're sure you have at least one lying around somewhere), cut a pool noodle to the appropriate size, and attach it to it, and you're all done. Congratulations!
Flowerpot Filler
How far can we go with pool noodles hacks? Quite far, we're proud to say. And this time: a perfect way to fill your pots without wasting a ton of soil!
Just cut a pool noodle into small pieces and place them at the bottom of your flowerpot before the actual soil. This will both make the pot a lot less heavy and make you waste less soil. Once you're done, obviously don't forget to add the actual plant (otherwise it'd just be weird).
Crutch Enhancement
If you're using crutches or know someone who does, you really have to become acquainted with this pool noodle hack.
Just take a piece of pool noodle of the required length, cut it down the side and slide it on the handles of the crutches. This is really simple and is bound to make the use of crutches much friendlier to your armpits.
Bracelet Display
If you're in the jewelry-selling business, this hack is right up your alley. Pool noodles are actually the perfect diameter to place bracelets on for display!
You can create a lovely bracelet display with just a row of pool noodles placed next to one another. If you want to make it a bit fancier, wrap the pool noodles with a nice piece of fabric so your clients won't know what lies underneath. Perfection!
Plant Support
Some plants require some extra support, so their stem won't fall sideways and break as they grow taller. There are different kinds of official instruments to help with that situation, but why buy some fancy plant supporters if you can just use a plain ol' pool noodle that works just as efficiently?
We would totally go for the pool noodle option. And vary the colors, too. It's a super sweet addition to the garden.
Bike Safety Enhancement
Falling off your bike is never pleasant, and we wish we could promise it'll never happen to your or your kids as you enjoy a fun Sunday ride. But just in case, it's best to do whatever possible to keep safe.
So, other than wearing a helmet (duh!), there's something you can do to pad a potential fall: enhance the bike with some pool noodles to make sure that anyone does fall and gets under the bike, the hit will be as mellow as possible. As an added bonus, it will also protect your bike frame from rust or scratches.
DIY Flip Flops
You did not see this one coming, we're pretty certain. We've never heard about anyone making their own flip flops at home, but after discovering this pool noodle hack, we're definitely planning on starting to. A piece of pool noodle in our favorite color? Check. Something that resembles a strap? Check,
A huge passion for random DYI projects? Well, check! Pool noodle flip flops, here we come. We can't guarantee these will be particularly comfortable, but you can't have it all, can you?
Physioball Chair
Isn't it the most annoying thing to exercise with a physioball only to roll off it constantly? Not to mention that you can hurt yourself while rolling off!
Here's the perfect solution: create a "chair" to put your ball in with just a pool noodle, a piece of PVC, and some duct tape. That ball will stay put and you could exercise freely, we promise. Who knew it was not only us humans who need chairs but physioballs need them, too.
Medical Practice
Who said pool noodles can't help medicine? Well, they can, or at least, they can help doctors in their professional training.
One of the things doctors (or nurses) need to know how to do is place an IV properly. Thanks to the similarity between pool noodles and human arms (we never thought we'd ever write this sentence), they can start practicing this safely without needing a real arm to prick. Are pool noodles the future of medicine? We vote yes!
Improvised Ball Pit
One of the things little kids like most is playing around in a ball pit. Parents, however, are less keen on being dragged to the Gymboree time and time again just so their children can play while they have to chat with all the other moms and dads.
So, here's a hack for antisocial parents: take a portable Playard, fill it up with small cut-up pool noodles, and you have your very own ball pit for your kids to play in at home.
Bath Childproofing
This is a really good one, so be sure to take notes. One of the riskiest places for toddlers is undoubtedly the bath. Other than the constant possibility of slipping, there's also the possibility of bumping different body parts into the bath tap.
We're not sure what to do about the slipping thing, but we can definitely help with the tap thing: just take a piece of pool noodle, place it on the tap, and wrap it with a rubber band to make sure it doesn't move.
Pattern Practice
Here's a pool noodle hack young kids (and their parents) can benefit from! All you'll need for this one are some paper towel holders and, obviously, some holy pool noodles. Take a few different-colored pool noodles and cut them into small rings.
Kids can have an awesome time creating different patterns with the colorful noodle pieces by placing them on top of each other on the paper towel holders! You can add an extra layer of thought by writing letters or numbers on some of the pool noodle pieces and help your kid practice their spelling.
Stamps
As a little kid, one of the best things your parents can allow you to do is go crazy with gouache, painting, and coloring until you get paint all over your clothes. Well, you might want to try and avoid the clothes-staining part, but pool noodles can be a lovely addition to the painting bit!
All you have to do is cut a noodle into relatively small pieces, then dip its end into the paint and let the kids use it as a doughnut-shaped stamp.
Card Holder
Into playing cards, but are too lazy to actually hold a bunch of them in your hand for more than five seconds? This hack was made for you.
All you have to do is grab a pool noodle, cut it to the appropriate length, cut it in half (so it can be easily placed on a flat surface), then cut a thin slit on top. That's pretty much it! You now have a place holder where you can stick your cards while playing Uno. Or rummy. Or poker! Your choice.
Furniture Edge Pads
There's no pain like the one you experience when you least expect it, like when you walk about your home and all of a sudden your shin meets the edge of a furniture frame. We've all been there, and it's sad.
Here's a solution, brought to you by pool noodle hacks inc.: just remove your furniture cover, place a piece of pool noodle on the edge of your furniture (be it a couch, a bed, or anything with an edge, basically), then put the cover back. Grateful shins guaranteed.
Pool Noodle Target
Pool noodles have been scientifically proven to be great for creating all sorts of games and recreational activities! Here's one of them: making a DIY pool-noodle target.
All you need are some pool noodles, tape, and a small piece of ground you could stick the pool-noodle poles into for stabilization. It's super simple and you can endlessly play with it. Great!
Quilting Aid
We've never done any quilting ourselves (we're more of a knitting type, actually, thanks for asking) – but nevertheless, we were thrilled to find this pool noodle quilting hack.
If you're a quilter and are struggling with sandwiching (we heard it can be quite a challenge), try using a pool noodle for some extra support. Oh, pool noodles, how very useful you are! We are starting to believe there is nothing they can't be used for!
Sculpting Tool Holder
If you're into sculpting, you must know all the various strange-looking tools you need to make your art pieces look exactly right.
But alas! Who will hold your tools while you work? Well, don't hire a tool-boy just yet, because a piece of pool noodle should do the trick. Just cut thin incisions into it and stick your sculpting tools inside. Happy to help!
