American singer Ariana Grande has been steadily climbing the celebrity ladder since 2008, performing to more and more fans with each passing show. By now, Grande is used to having thousands of cameras pointed at her, but she’s not used to them capturing her in an awkward situation. At the 2012 Teen Choice Awards, Grande wore a stunning dress with a poofy, net skirt, which was apparently a wrong choice for the particularly windy day.
At one point, the skirt was nearly blown up entirely, but luckily, Grande managed to hold it down before being completely exposed! The cameras captured a very Marilyn Monroe-type moment, although in a far more awkward, embarrassing version.
The Beyonce Stare at TIDAL X
This must be something that Beyonce goes through a lot. Just imagine everywhere you go, people are constantly staring at you.
In this picture, the girl to her right seems to be stuck in a time warp in a dimension where only she and Beyonce exist, and behind her is another dude who seems to be ignoring a proposal. You can see that even the bodyguard to her right is calling for backup because he can tell the impending fandom is about to pounce on her.
MG-Not Okay
MGK and Megan Fox are known for their public affection antics in front of the cameras. Whether they are trying to provoke a reaction or not is beside the fact that the way in which they are kissing is just way too much for the public eye to enjoy.
If people want, they can subscribe to Hustler magazine. This is at the Billboard Music Awards.
What's That I Smell
We would need some more context to understand exactly what is going on in this photo. But it seems like Jessica Chastain is being pit-sniffed by Oscar Isaac.
Oscar Isaac is a real friend. The kind of friend who tells you if you smell. Even if there are cameras from all over the world watching you, Isaac will be there to save the day.
Jimmy C Fears No Man
A lot of people wake up in the morning with a bad hair day. Nothing they do seems to work, and they have no choice. They have to go out there and give the people what they want. Not Jimmy C though. Jimmy C chose to have a good hair day.
He also opted for the bad facial skin day, but as you can see by his posture, this does not faze the seasoned actor who's so good at acting that he can just act as if nothing is wrong with his facial skin.
Staying True to Being Ye
To share the room with Kanye West, otherwise known currently as Ye, will always come with an awkward moment or two. Suppose he is not saying something difficult for the average human ear to be comfortable with.
In that case, he is doing bizarre things in front of the cameras and, for instance, here, showing up to the 2009 MTV Music Awards, sucking on a bottle of Hennessy like it's his baby bottle. Freud would have a few conclusions to make about this photo, and he would probably hit it right on the nail regarding Kanye's profile.
Going Down With a Smile
Courtney Love is known first and foremost as the widow of Nirvana's frontman, Kurt Kobain. Needless to say, Love before and after Kobain's passing had always been known for unbecoming red-carpet antics. Often showing up intoxicated and unloading on the press with profane language and behavior.
A scene such as this one at the 12th Annual MTV Video Music Awards, as awkward as it is, was so common that she wasn't even bothered and smiled on her way to the floor. Let's hope she's healthy and safe today.
An Awkward Moment Or?
A dance-off! This is the natural guess to be thought of in the context of this photo. The next question to be asked is, who are these people tumbling as if they are in a big stampede?
They are actors Nicole Kidman and Adrien Brody being caught on cam just as Kidman knocked brody down at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit Gala. Well, if you're going to be knocked down by anyone, it may as well be Nicole Kidman.
When Wind Kicks in
This photo is, sadly, the paparazzi's most sought-after type of photography. It is the moment when celebs have wardrobe malfunctions that end up exposing what should be kept private.
Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall seemed to have caught hers on time before the cameras did when her dress came undone after a gust of wind at the Brit Awards in 2017. "No, not me! For I am Little Mix, and no gust of wind will ruin my day!"
It's Fun to Be Tall
At least when short people are not trying to hug you in front of a bunch of cameras, then it's not so fun. In fact, we challenge you to find us one photo out there in the world in which a shorter person tries to hug a much taller person over the shoulder without the taller person awkwardly having to bend their body over to complete the exchange of affection.
This is exactly what is happening here between George Clooney and Drew Barrymore.
This Could Be an Awkward Moment
If you are a bigot, that is. To us, it just looks like two perfectly normal men who are sharing a big-spoon little-spoon hug at the "Logan Lucky" UK Film Premiere.
Adam Driver and Channing Tatum are clearly great friends and want the world to know. We are bros, we love each other very much, and there is nothing we love more than sharing a hug together.
The Big No No
Everyone knows that when you go to an event, you want to make sure you are not wearing the same thing as someone. If you do, usually an abstract hierarchy decides who was in the wrong and who was in the right about whose fault it is.
But you can't expect Aubrey Plaza and Elizabeth Olsen to magically know what the other is wearing. There should be a person whose job it is to know what everyone is wearing so there are no awkward wardrobe commonalities at these things.
Flipping the Bird
Usually, when someone is flipping the bird at someone else, it is not meant in the literal fashion. Well, at this event held at Claridge's for "The Huntsman Winter's War," Chris Hemsworth and Emily Blunt seem all too confused about why there is a big owl on set and why it seems to be out of control.
Hemsworth is clearly unamused and wants it to stop.
Awkward or Sweet
We are having trouble figuring out whether this exchange between Alexander Skarsgard and Margot Robbie at the UK "Legend of Tarzan" premiere is awkward or rather sweet. Yes, Robbie's dress does seem to be coming undone, but Skarsgard is being so gentle and helpful.
Maybe these people are so good-looking that anything they do in front of the cameras is cute. Hollywood should have more moments like this!
"I Am an Oger!"
It could be the plausible thing that Antonio Banderas yelled as he mounted Justin Timberlake on the red carpet UK premiere of "Shrek the Third" in London in 2007.
Timberlake seems obviously shocked, but both are very thrilled and obviously great friends, and the photographers got a wonderful photo out of it. You could say this is an awkward moment done right. They look like such good friends.
Resting Beef Face
This photo says it all. There seemed to have been an obvious beef between Taylor Swift and Olivia Munn during the 39th Annual People's Choice Awards. Munn handed Swift her award for Favorite Country Artist in a Kanye-inspired, poorly-executed joke that didn't really make anyone laugh.
It was awkward for Munn, who just wasn't funny, and it was awkward for Taylor, who tried her hardest to smile and give her speech peacefully. We wonder what Taylor is whispering in her ear. "I know where you sleep. Just remember that!"
Midsmile Mishap
Chrissy Teigen seems to be going through something they call the mid-smile mishap at the 2016 American Music Awards.
A few things appear to have happened all at once here. First, she stepped on the hem of her dress, and then she tripped a little and almost dropped her bag all at once. Meanwhile, all she wanted to do was smile for the cameras. Good job, Chrissy, you handled this one as best you could!
Forgetting the Past
For many reasons, a lot of people want to forget their exes. Could it be that what was once a kiss full of love between Tom Cruise and Katy Holmes today is a distant awkward memory that she would rather forget than relive?
He does seem to be forcing himself on her here too, so maybe she didn't feel comfortable then, either. Well, if you want to know what two future divorcees look like when they kiss, this photo is a perfect example.
Sensory Overload
It's when your physical senses are overstimulated. It's super uncomfortable and is enough to drive a person insane.
Emma Thompson seems to be all too keen to end this big sandwich between Simon Amstell and Stanley Tucci at the London Evening Standard British Film Awards. As soon as humanly possible would be great. You can see it on her face. She is so done and ready to be over with this day.
Ocean's What Now?
Naturally, the photographer probably forgot his name, who he was, and what he was doing there after witnessing firsthand Rihanna's top almost falling to the floor at the European premiere of "Ocean's 8" in London in 2018.
The pop star had been through a thing or two by then and seemed to be recovering without a flinch from the situation. Nothing can faze Rih Rih!
Get in Here!
It's not a man's world anymore. Where in the 1950's male actors would just abruptly kiss anyone they wanted in broad daylight.
Now it's the women of Hollywood who are doing it. Lena Dunham knows that when a man like Brad Pitt is just standing next to you posing for a picture it's the perfect time to get in there and get a kiss out of him.
Sacha Baron Cohen Being a Troublemaker
Sacha Baron Cohen is famous for stirring up trouble with his provocative humor, and obviously, this is especially true when it comes to red-carpet events. For the 2012 Oscars, Cohen decided to go as a middle eastern leader, more specifically, as his character in his movie The Dictator. As if that weren’t enough, he was carrying around an urn with what he said were the ashes of North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il.
Cohen scattered the ashes all over the red carpet and accidentally got some on host Ryan Seacrest’s expensive suit. Seacrest was not happy, to say the least, and to make matters worse, Cohen later interrupted one of his interviews with Lady Gaga asking for a hug and redemption. Seacrest was extremely uncomfortable, and Cohen, as always, was extremely amused.
Michael Cera Out Does Himself
It is not at all surprising to learn that Michael Cera is as awkward and hilarious in real life as he is on the screen. The 'Superbad' star certainly proved this at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, when he fell to the ground in a very funny, slow-motion way.
After somehow tripping over his own feet, Cera was simply posing for a photo when he started tumbling toward the carpet. What made this scene all the more hilarious was that fellow actress Catalina Sandino, who was close by, tried to catch the awkward actor and prevent the embarrassment. But it was too late.
Karolina Kurkova’s Dress Almost Choked Her
The beautiful Victoria's Secret Angel model, Karolina Kurkova, had a close brush with disaster at the New York City Ballet Gala in 2012. Kurkova was wearing a stunning red dress with a long, flowy cape, which almost choked her to the ground!
Apparently, a fellow guest accidentally stepped on the edge of Kurkova's cape, and before she could realize it, she just kept walking in the other direction. This almost pulled her back to the ground, but fortunately, the choke was enough to get her attention and make her realize what was going on before the disaster happened!
Woody Allen's Inappropriate Looks
It's no secret that Scarlett Johansson is one of the most beautiful women in the world, especially when she appeared in 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' in 2008. In a premiere for the movie, director Woody Allen couldn't resist Johansson's stunning looks and was caught on camera looking at the actress in a rather compromising way. Allen was gazing downward, and unfortunately, even if it was just a second, the cameras never lie.
Allen should be especially aware of the number of photographers present at these premieres and try to be a little more discrete next time. Even though Johansson and Allen are supposedly good friends, and the actress has come to his defense when it comes to scandals involving the director, he still shouldn't have been staring that way.
John Travolta's Cringy Attempt at a Kiss
The times when John Travolta played the smooth-talking Danny Zuko on 'Grease' are certainly long gone. In the 2015 Oscars, Travolta made a bit of a fool of himself when he tried to kiss Scarlett Johansson on the cheek, or maybe it was the neck?! Anyway, the New Jersey-born Hollywood celebrity leaned in in a very awkward manner, grabbing Johansson by the stomach and standing almost entirely behind her.
We know she's absolutely gorgeous, John, but you still can't grab a lady's waist like that without asking! Even if they were very close friends, this is still a very cringe-worthy photo, especially after seeing the blank expression on Johansson's face. Maybe she wasn't surprised and knew this was happening; maybe she chose not to react. Or maybe, this was just a very badly-timed photo.
Jennifer Lawrence Skipped an Entire Row
It seems that the talented and beautiful Jennifer Lawrence decided to just be herself at the 2018 Oscars. Maybe that glass of white wine she's holding was her fifth one and caused her to just say "to hell with it." She hiked up her dress so she could skip over an entire row of seats because, clearly, going all the way around like everybody else was way too much effort.
We get it, it must be exhausting to look classy and elegant all the time, but we just hope that very expensive Dior dress didn't rip after Jennifer's acrobatics.
Bradley Cooper Was Grabbed
At the Screen Actors Guild Awards in 2014, Bradley Cooper was having a friendly chat with Michael Pena and Mandy Patinkin when somebody grabbed his legs! As it turns out, it was a Ukrainian journalist called Vitalii Sediuk, who apparently, is quite famous for pulling pranks on celebrities he writes about.
The journalist dropped to the floor, grabbed Cooper's legs, and hugged them tightly, expecting the actor to react badly. However, Cooper just laughed and kept talking to his co-stars. Now, how this journalist managed to get past security and reach Cooper is beyond us.
Jools Holland Scoots Around
The famous British musician and TV presenter, Jools Holland, certainly showed a less serious side of himself at the GQ Men of the Year Awards in 2014. Apparently, the red carpet wasn't properly stuck to the ground, causing Holland to trip and fall on his back!
But as a person who's constantly on TV well knows, the best thing to do in these situations is laugh and appear unaffected, which is exactly what Holland did before getting up. He even bowed to the cameramen afterward.
Jessica Alba Looks Good Even When She Falls
Since the early 2000s, the gorgeous Jessica Alba has proved she can do it all - look beautiful, act, start her own business, be a mom, and even make a red carpet fall look graceful. Well, maybe not graceful, but definitely not bad! Back in 2006, at the Teen Choice Awards, Alba stumbled and fell to the ground, but as you can see, she didn't stop smiling.
Even though she probably hurt her knees and was considerably embarrassed on the inside, she managed to keep smiling, laugh, and look good in front of the hundreds of cameras pointed at her. And thanks to her casual outfit, nothing was ripped or torn, and the beautiful actress lived happily ever after.
Liang Jingke Didn't Make It
The famous Chinese actress Liang Jingke looked absolutely stunning when she attended the 2016 Venice Film Festival. The only problem was, it was way too tight. The beautiful, jade green dress was so tight that it didn't allow Jingke to walk properly, and she ended up falling on the red carpet.
Even worse, she couldn't get back up once she had fallen to her knees and had to be helped by other attendees. They pulled her up, trying to make the whole thing less awkward. To make this picture even funnier, it seems they're trying to pull the actress up by her arms and chest!
Jonah Hill and Margot Robbie Almost Said the Wrong Words
After starring together in Martin Scorsese's famous 'The Wolf of Wall Street,' Jonah Hill and Margot Robbie were summoned to present an award at the 2014 Golden Globes. The teleprompter was supposed to be showing a clip from the movie when the pair suddenly realized there'd been a horrible mistake.
Hill announced the problem and said that "clearly, the wrong words are showing up on the screen," and luckily, they were quickly brought a copy of the script. Anyways, considering that she's breathtakingly beautiful, and he's incredibly hilarious, it wouldn't have been that bad! However, the person in charge of the teleprompter probably had the worst day of their life after that.
"Imma Let You Finish"
One of the most embarrassing celebrity moments ever happened at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009. Taylor Swift, who was still very young and had just started to climb the fame ladder, won for the best music video of the year. Less than a minute into her acceptance speech, Kanye West came on stage and took the microphone from her!
The rapper went on to say that he was happy for her, but he thought that Beyonce had one of the best music videos of all time. Beyonce herself just looked mortified and sorry for Taylor, who just stood there startled and dumbfounded.
Petra Nemcova Can't Stop Laughing
Czech model Petra Nemcova had a run-in with the red carpet at a Cannes Festival some years back. The model's stunning black gown was so long that it caused her to trip over and stumble to the ground, almost ending with her face planted on the floor!
Fortunately, the Czech beauty laughed it off, and people around her quickly helped her up. We don't know if it was the years of training as a model on the runway or just her good attitude, but this beauty certainly handled her fall in the best way possible.
South Park in Drag
You may not know Trey Parker and Matt Stone by name, but you certainly know their genius creation, 'South Park.' This brilliant, hilarious animated series has been running for over ten years and has a very loyal fanbase. If you've ever seen the show, you won't be surprised to learn that for the 2000 Oscars, Parker and Stone decided to go in dresses, including a wig, bare chests, and sparkly flip flops.
Not surprisingly, the pair rarely attend awards shows, but they decided to go this time and make a lasting impression. Parker wore a fashionable wig, and a sexy, green see-through dress, while Stone donned a pink satin dress with a matching shawl. They looked gorgeous and, as is to be expected, they were both quite drunk. You've got to love these guys.
Alysia Reiner Needs Help
Alysia Reiner got her big break on the famous 'Orange Is the New Black,' and then on 'How to Get Away With Murder.' For the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Reiner wore a beautiful red dress that looked gorgeous on her and a little too tight. Even though the dress was open at the bottom, it clearly wasn't enough. The tightness of the dress made Reiner shuffle across the carpet as she attempted not to fall.
Fortunately, she got someone to help her lift the bottom of her gown so she could walk more easily. We are all for high fashion and beautiful gowns, but come on, Alysia, you have to make sure you can walk in it!
Virginie Efira Needs Help
The Belgian-French actress and TV presenter Virginie Efira have brains and beauty. However, she is also a human like the rest of us, and thus, not exempt from embarrassment. In the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, Efira had her Cinderella moment when her partner, Niels Schneider, helped her keep a red carpet failure from becoming a catastrophe.
Efira's beautiful strappy heels had a buckle that had come loose, but she immediately felt it and apparently told Schneider. The gentleman bent down and very gently buckled her shoe back, while Princess Efira pulled up her very tight dress to make it easier for him. Now, that's a real-life Prince Charming!
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Just Can't Help Themselves
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are two of the world's most talented and beloved comediennes. Usually, they just can't help themselves when it comes to public mockery, even if they're mocking themselves. In 2013, the dynamic duo attempted to climb - literally, climb - the stairs to the stage.
If we didn't already know these two and their usual comedy antics, we'd think they were recovering from a very nasty hangover. We just can't get enough of them. And neither can anyone else.
David Oyelowo Goes All Out
David Oyelowo showcased his amazing acting skills when he played Martin Luther King in 2014's 'Selma.' And apparently, this actor is as serious about his work as he is about his looks. In the 2015 Academy Awards, Oyelowo went all out and wore a dapper, maroon-colored tux suit that definitely made him stand out.
He was so proud that he made a point of showing the cameramen how every single piece of clothing he was wearing matched! His jacket, socks, bowtie, waistcoat, and even his shoes matched, and Oyelowo made sure the photographers didn't miss it by performing acrobatics and actually lifting up his leg towards the camera.
Justin Timberlake Crashes Emma Stone's Interview
It's hard mastering the art of the photobomb, yet celebrities try endlessly to do so. Justin Timberlake didn't keep his distance from Emma Stone and ruined her interview at the 2017 Oscars.
While the "La La Land" actress talked to "Vanity Fair," the singer sneaked up behind her and flashed his pearly whites off for the camera. Stone didn't seem to notice at first, but after a few seconds turned around and spotted him as Timberlake ran away quickly.
Kim Kardashian West Is in the Mix
Kim Kardashian West just can't catch a break. The mogul got flour-bombed at her True Reflections fragrance launch back in 2012. The reality TV star is a red carpet veteran, but this one took the cake, literally!
Kardashian West was surprised when she was assaulted by an anonymous woman, who then ran away. The attack was surprising, and unfortunately, Kim was left covered in baking flour at her big launch.
Annalynne McCord Smiles Through the Pain
This may seem like an innocent picture, but it was taken moments after “90210” star AnnaLynne McCord had an embarrassing incident at the 2009 Teen Vogue Party.
The actress wasn't too comfortable in her heels, and she took a plunge. Like most celebrities that fall on the red carpet, she got right back up and continued smiling at the cameras.
Hugh Grant Gets Cuffed
Hugh Grant is one of Britain's biggest heartthrobs; he has both female and male fans throw themselves at him regularly. He's so sought after that one fan, Cielke Sijben, handcuffed herself to the actor at the premiere of his film, "Music & Lyrics", in 2007.
After being cuffed, and with no other option, Hugh continued to speak with the press with his biggest fan by his side. The actor had to wait 10 minutes for firefighters to unleash the cuffs.
Kate Moss Got Hungry
After a 15-year hiatus from the Cannes Film Festival, model Kate Moss made her big debut on the 2016 red carpet. Perhaps she forgot red carpet etiquette since she decided to bite into her clutch for no apparent reason.
Perhaps the supermodel felt playful at the "Loving" premiere, and she decided to just go for it!
Crazy For Clooney
When you're as big as George Clooney, it doesn't come as much of a surprise that you get fans freaking out at the sight of you everywhere you turn. You know what they say, "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." And that's exactly what Clooney did.
The award-winning actor pretended to yell with his adoring fans, though, if we're honest, he looks a little more upset than they do!
A Stuntwoman in Style
When you aren't an A-list actor, sometimes you have to pull out all the stops to stand out. Jessie Graff is here to set the record straight; in case you thought you couldn't karate kick in a gown, the truth is, you can!
The stuntwoman shocked fans on the red-carpet karate kicks seem to be her specialty and made sure that no one will ever forget her name.
A Mother-Daugther Brawl Moment
This awkward red carpet moment happened with small talk. A reporter had asked actress Melanie Griffith if she had seen "Fifty Shades of Grey" yet. She repeatedly said she didn't need to see the film when eventually, her daughter, actress Dakota Johnson snapped, "Alright, you don't have to see it!" She said as she rolled her eyes.
It doesn't matter who your mother is; the moment she annoys you in public, you're going to let her know. This uncomfortable and awkward exchange went on to inspire many memes. And everyone knows, the moment you become a meme, you're locked in history forever.
Mayim Bialik Defends Her Intelligence
At the 2014 Sag Awards, a journalist asked "The Big Bang Theory" actress and neuroscientist Mayim Bialik, "Being on the Big Bang Theory, how many people—not that you aren’t a genius—think that you can solve calculus at the drop of a hat?"
Bialik automatically clapped back to the question with this brilliant answer, "I was trained in calculus for several years. I’m a neuroscientist—you may not have known that?"
Well, This is Awkward
Though reporters often have good intentions, sometimes, they embarrass themselves beyond repair. At the 2018 Golden Globes, Giuliana Rancic asked actress and writer Issa Rae what she'd call her memoir. An innocent question, really...
But wait...Rae already released her memoir, published in 2015. The book is called "The Misadventures of an Awkward Black Girl" and was a "New York Times" bestseller.
Debra Messing Drags E!
Actress Debra Messing made a statement without even meaning to. At the 2018 Golden Globes, she called out E! for not paying their female co-hosts the same as they pay their male co-hosts. She unknowingly said this to an E! correspondent, Giuliana Rancic.
Messing was referring to former E! co-host Catt Sadler. In December 2017, Sadler quit the network after learning that her male colleague, Jason Kennedy, earned nearly twice her salary.
Giuliana Rancic Dismisses Emilia Clarke
Giuliana Rancic was in the middle of interviewing Emilia Clarke when she spotted Heidi Klum making her way over to talk. The E! co-host told the "Game of Thrones" actress, with whom she'd been talking, that she was letting her go.
Apparently, Clarke didn't hear her because she stayed in place. "You can go," Rancic repeated. Though she was polite, there was a very awkward vibe left between them as Clarke walked away.
Jerry Seinfeld Turns Down Kesha's Hug
Singer Kesha came up to Jerry Seinfeld at the David Lynch Foundation's "A Night of Laughter and Song" and asked if they could hug. Reasonable, right? Well, the comedian turned her down. She didn't give up, this time asking for "just a little one?" and he responded, "no thanks."
The truth of the matter is, Seinfeld didn't know who Kesha was, and when the reporter interviewing him explained who she was to him, he said, "Okay, well, I wish her the best."
Macy Gray Promotes Away
You know things are tough when you're out there using the red carpet for self-promotion. The singer-songwriter showed up at the MTV VMAs wearing this, and it's about as awkward as one can get.
Most celebs use the red carpet to show off their looks and glam, not promote an upcoming album. But hey, whatever works?!
Exes on the Red Carpet
Running to an ex is never a fun experience - especially when paparazzi are photographing you. Model Miranda Kerr looked taken aback when her ex-husband Orlando Blooms arrived on the red carpet next to her.
They were cordial, but everyone could tell the run-in was very awkward for both parties.
Björk Wears a Swan Dress
One of the most iconic and cringe-worthy moments on the red carpet was when Björk showed up to the 2001 Academy Awards dressed in a swan dress. Apart from the dress itself, Björk was awkwardly embarrassed when people didn't seem to get the "artistic" element of her outfit.
She brought along six ostrich eggs with her, dropping them carefully on the red carpet. Other celebs' bodyguards kept picking them up and handing them back to her, thinking she dropped them by accident.
Gary Busey Kisses Jennifer Garner
When actor Gary Busey repeatedly interrupted Ryan Seacrest while interviewing Jennifer Garner and Laura Linney, everyone was a little peeved. But the encounter became truly uncomfortable when Seacrest tried introducing Garner and Busey. Busey responded by kissing the actress's neck.
Garner was obviously stunned and responded to the host's next question with a solid question of her own. "Aren't you going to ask me about getting kissed on the neck on the red carpet by this man? Um, that was nice."
Nancy O'Dell Embarrasses Taylor Swift
A lot of embarrassing things go down on the red carpet. While interviewing Taylor Swift at the 2015 Grammys, ET's Nancy O'Dell told the singer-songwriter that she would walk away that night with a lot of men.
Swift responded with one heck of a death stare and said, "I'm not going to walk away with any men tonight." The interview lightened up but started pretty awkward, to say the least.
Lil Xan and Noah's PDA
Young love, right? No, thank you. Lil Xan and Noah were very into each other on the red carpet, including awkwardly making out.
There was one point where Lil Xan stuck his fingers in his mouth and sucked on them. Confused, yeah, well, us too!
Groped and Grabbed
We think it's safe to say that red-carpet interviews are, more often than not, painfully awkward. The interviewer only has a few seconds to get an interesting interview from the celeb...live!
It seems that fashion designer and interviewer Isaac Mizrahi crossed the line in order to get a memorable interview moment. While admiring actress Scarlett Johansson's dress at the 2006 Golden Globes, he grabbed her breast! Eeek, talk about inappropriate.
La La Land...Wait...No!
The 89th Annual Academy Awards is one that Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty (as well as the rest of the planet) are unlikely to forget.
The two were tasked with announcing the "Best Picture" award. However, due to a mishap of massive proportions, they were handed the wrong envelope. This led to the film "La La Land" initially being called the winner, when in fact it was the film "Moonlight." We have to say that the filmmakers of both films handled it like pros!
Will Slap if Provoked
It's the slap that broke the internet, that was heard across the world, and that shook Hollywood to its core. You guessed it, it's the now infamous pop-culture moment when actor Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock across the face during the 2022 Oscars ceremony.
Chris Rock, while presenting an award, made a joke about Jada Pinkett-Smith's hair, which in Will Smith's own words "was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally." The moment drew mass global cringe and criticism and led to Smith being banned from the Oscars for 10 years.
Did Jason Derulo Take a Dive?
American singer Jason Derulo made headlines in 2015. Newspapers worldwide reported that Derulo had fallen all of the stairs at the Met Gala, almost as if diving into purpose. The photo, which didn't exactly show Derulo's face, went viral overnight, and everybody talked about it.
However, it turned out that it wasn't Derulo at all! The unlucky guy who had fallen was an anonymous attendee, who hit the stairs pretty hard even though several ushers tried to stop it.
Katy Perry Slips on a Cake
Katy Perry is known for giving memorable shows, and the 2008 MTV Latin America Music Awards was certainly unforgettable. Perry jumped into a giant, human-sized cake after the end of a song, and it was incredibly amusing. However, when she tried to leave the stage when the performance ended, she slipped on the cake remains.
Katy got cake everywhere - all over herself, all over the stage, all over her clothes. But her band found it quite hilarious. Although the stage looked absolutely disgusting, and we truly feel sorry for the cleaning staff that had to come in afterward.
Kristen Stewart Needs a Stronger Grip
The 'Twilight' movies were a huge hit back in the day, and in 2009, their star Kristen Stewart won a Golden Popcorn award for Best Female Performance at the MTV Music Awards. Just as she started leaving the stage after accepting, the award fumbled out of her hands, and she dropped it!
The statue broke, leaving Stewart with half the prize and an incredible amount of embarrassment. Maybe the Golden Popcorn was just too heavy for Stewart's fragile hands.
Melissa Joan Hart’s Facial Disaster
Actress Melissa Joan Hart has been on the screen since the 90s, so she's no stranger to being in front of cameras. However, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, had certainly never been caught looking like this! At the premiere of 'Frozen,' Hart hadn't exactly finished doing her makeup.
Any makeup artist knows that face powder must be blended in, so the foundation doesn't show on flash photography. But apparently, Hart's makeup artist hadn't done this properly, and the actress went out to pose on the red carpet with a weird glare. Finally, Hart got out of the spotlight, and someone told her about the situation. We bet she was mortified.
Cara Delevigne Causes a Scene
At the 2014 GQ Men of the Year Awards, the model-turned-actress, Cara Delevigne, caused quite the scene. After she nearly spilled her drink all over a famous fashion designer standing close by, Cara somehow lost her balance and fell over the poor man!
As she was trying to grab onto him to prevent herself from falling, they both went down, rolling all over the floor. Obviously, they were both dressed in very expensive high couture that got messed up and dirty, but at least the two managed to laugh about it, at least in front of the cameras. Then, Cara stood right back up and rushed to get another drink!
Jennifer Garner Lets Loose
The sweet Jennifer Garner has had her fair share of red-carpet fails. It's certainly not a good match to be clumsy and a Hollywood celebrity, but this beauty makes it work somehow. One of her funniest moments was at the 2013 Oscars when Garner nearly lost her balance and fell on her face!
The gorgeous, wine-colored dress was quite tight, which apparently made it a bit difficult to walk in, causing the actress to suddenly lose her bearings. Luckily, Garner quickly threw out her arms to regain her balance and just laughed at herself. Good on you, Jen!
Adam Levine, the Wife Protector
Adam Levine is one of the most famous and beloved singers in the world. And as if that wasn't enough, he's married to one of the most beautiful women in the world, too. His wife, Victoria's Secret model Behati Prinsloo, is absolutely gorgeous, and apparently, totally human. At the 2015 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Prinsloo had a bit of a slip when her dress slipped right off her chest while posing for a photo!
Luckily, her gentleman husband, Levine, came to her rescue and quickly put his hand up to block his wife's chest. The singer saved the day, and his wife's honor, as he managed to block the compromising view just in time. What's more, the couple seems to have laughed about the incident afterward.
Tre Cool is Definitely Not That Cool
The drummer of the American rock band, Green Day, decided to go by the name Tre Cool some years back. But in reality, Frank Wright was anything but cool at the Europe Music Awards of 2019. When stepping out of the car and onto the red carpet, Tre Cool stumbled and fell on the ground.
Wright tried to be as cool as he could and seemingly brushed off the fall, refusing help and quickly getting up. But unfortunately, the moment will live on forever after being caught on camera by about a thousand different people.
Rami Malek is Too Excited About His Win
After his incredible performance as Freddie Mercury in 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' Rami Malek won an Oscar for Best Actor in 2019. All was good and well until he was making his way off the stage after his speech. Maybe Malek was just too excited to count the steps properly, and he just missed most of them!
The actor fell down pretty hard, and the people around him immediately rushed to help him up. A few seconds later, a member of the medical staff even came to him to ask if he was okay, to which the actor smiled and said he was. Although, we're pretty sure he had some nasty bruises once he got home.
Jason Segal Got in the Way
This one is quite funny and couldn't have happened to anyone other than the hilarious Jason Segal. His acting skills and facial expressions are one of a kind, and they definitely came in handy at his red carpet incident. While walking on the carpet at the Oscars, Segal is abruptly interrupted by the cleaning staff, and his reaction is priceless.
Clearly, Segal doesn't understand what the hell is going on, and honestly, neither do we. Shouldn't the cleaning be done after the actors are inside the theater?
Angelina Jolie’s Compromising Slit
Remember when Angelina Jolie’s leg got its own Twitter account back in 2012? Well, we do. And if you do too and are wondering how it ever happened, here’s the story. Jolie attended the 2012 Academy Awards in a beautiful dress, albeit with a very high slit. Angelina thought the slit wasn’t sexy enough to be appreciated on its own, so she decided to pose to show it off, making it way too obvious and unflattering.
It didn’t look natural, and it was quite embarrassing, so much so that someone opened a Twitter account under the name ‘AngelinaJoliesL.’ Unfortunately, Angelina got a lot of attention that year, but for all the wrong reasons.
Ashley Graham Is Glowing No Matter What
Ashley Graham made a name for herself after becoming a plus-sized model and TV personality that strongly advocates women's beauty, regardless of their waist size. In 2017, Graham was walking on the red carpet at the TIME 100 Gala when she tripped on her own dress.
Even though the dress looked more like lingerie than it did a gown for a Gala, she still looked beautiful. And it still had enough fabric to make her trip. Fortunately, Graham just twisted her ankle and didn't fall flat on her face. Although, maybe a quick fall would've been less painful than a bent ankle.
Princess Mary Is Falling Down
When the Crown Princess of Denmark, Princess Mary, went to the 2014 Bambi Media Awards in Germany, she had a bit of a stumble. When the Princess got on stage to receive her award for charity work, she lost her balance and nearly fell to the ground, almost dropping her Bambi!
Fortunately, the graceful Princess managed to stay on her feet, but the cameras had already caught her brief moment of near-disaster. Thankfully, this royal didn't have to deal with that much embarrassment.
Something is Happening With Christoph Waltz's Walk
The German-Austrian actor Christoph Waltz has certainly made a name for himself in Hollywood since his debut as Hans Landa in Quentin Tarantino's 'Inglourious Basterds.' Waltz is known for his very characteristic and incredibly talented acting style; he can be funny, serious, dramatic, and often, extremely mysterious. And this extends to his real-life persona - something he proved at the 2018 Cannes Festival.
During the entire walk on the red carpet, as he was entering the event, Waltz walked around with an odd limp. What is still not clear is whether it was real or he was simply trying to play a joke on all of us. The actor even stared into the cameras at one point, almost as if to dare the viewers to guess if he was faking or not. And we still haven't figured it out!
Leslie Mann Likes Cameron Diaz a Little Too Much
Leslie Mann is not only a fantastic actress, but she's also hilarious, beautiful, and apparently, a whole lot of fun. At the 2014 premiere of the movie 'The Other Woman,' in which she co-stars alongside Cameron Diaz, Mann got a little wild and decided to grab Diaz's butt, and it was quite the grab!
Maybe Mann was drunk or just in a very good mood, but she decided to go for it. Diaz doesn't seem to mind it one bit and has apparently said that she and Leslie are very good friends, and she's great to work with. We're not surprised. And hey, what's wrong with a couple of girlfriends having a little fun?
Reese Witherspoon's Wrist-shake
Even though it wasn't exactly an embarrassing moment, it was certainly awkward. When attending a red carpet event, Reese Witherspoon and Felicity Jones shared a weird-looking wrist shake. Maybe it wasn't intentional, and maybe the two actresses went in for a handshake and just missed their mark.
Regardless, the result was an odd photo of the two holding each other by the wrist. However, they both look quite happy and smiley, so no harm is done.
Kim and Kanye Simply Don't Care
Famous actress and comedienne Amy Schumer is known for her no-holds-barred style of comedy. And, of course, her pranks. So, for the 2015 TIME Gala, she decided to play a little joke on celebrity couple, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. Schumer pretended to fall when the couple arrived in order to get media attention and see how the West-Kardashian duo would react.
Not surprisingly, the couple just stepped over Schumer as if she was invisible. We get how frustrated the comedienne must have felt when all eyes were on the couple as they arrived, especially since, according to her, “they just stood there like ‘you’re welcome’...". We get it, Amy, but unfortunately, it didn't work out so well this time!
Marion Cotillard’s Bend and Snap
The famous French actress Marion Cotillard is not only stunningly beautiful, but she is also an incredibly gifted actress. Usually known for her elegance and grace on the red carpet, the Cannes Film Festival of 2018 had something else in store for the actress.
As Cotillard was walking the red carpet, one of her big, dangling earrings fell off, and the actress decided to perform a graceful acrobatics routine to pick it up. She not only managed to bend down wearing a tight, white jumpsuit, but she also managed to grab hold of one attendee that was close by to keep her balance, very graceful indeed.
Isn't There Enough Jennifer Lawrence to Go Around?
The beautiful and talented Jennifer Lawrence has made her mark on Hollywood in recent years, establishing herself as an A-list actress in movies like Hunger Games, Joy, Silver Lining’s Playbook, American Hustle, and more. She is known for her poise and class when it comes to red-carpet events – except for one.
At the London premiere of her movie, Catching Fire, Lawrence was photographed with her two co-stars as they pretend to fight over her (as they do in the movie). The whole scene was thankfully documented by the many photographers around and we ended up with this timeless picture!
Heidi Klum Will Never Trust Again
Famous model and TV personality Heidi Klum has what's probably one of the worst on-camera fails in Hollywood's history. Klum was hosting the Emmy Awards in 2008, and apparently, she and co-host Tom Bergerson had rehearsed a skit - she was going to pretend she had fainted and fallen in Bergerson's arms. Unfortunately, he didn't catch her, and Klum fell straight to the ground.
The man's arms didn't reach out in time, and Klum hit the very hard stage with the side of her body. Not only was everything caught live on camera, the model probably had pretty bad bruises afterward. Yikes! We wonder what happened to Bergerson backstage...
Hayden Panettiere Gets Tripped by Her Dress
The 'Nashville' star Hayden Panettiere had quite the slip at the 2014 Met Gala. Known for being THE fashion event of the year, the Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is a parade of the world's most beautiful gowns and costumes. Panettiere was wearing a stunning Tom Ford ball gown with a very poofy skirt.
As beautiful as it was, the skirt caused her to trip while she was walking down the stairs of the museum. People rushed to her aid and helped lift her up, and the actress took it like a champ, even joking with the cameramen afterward.
America Ferrera Gets Attacked
The Ukrainian journalist prankster, Vitalii Sediuk, pulled one of his infamous pranks on actress America Ferrera at the premiere of the sequel of 'How to Train Your Dragon.' Not only that, Sediuk actually tried to get under Ferrara's dress to get some very inappropriate photos.
Ferrera, who was posing next to Cate Blanchett and Kit Harrington, was absolutely shocked and justifiably angry. Fortunately, security guards came immediately and removed him from the red carpet before he could snap any photos. How does this man even get past security in the first place?!
Jennifer Lawrence's Awkward Trip
2013 was a bi-year for Jennifer Lawrence - she won an Oscar for Best Actress after her incredible performance in 'Silver Linning's Playbook,' she wore an unforgettable ball gown that will never be forgotten, and she tripped at the Academy Awards! When going up the stairs to get on stage and accept the Oscar, Lawrence tripped and fell in front of everybody. It was probably the excitement.
Fortunately for her, the actress is wonderfully charismatic and quick to react, so, when she finally got on stage and grabbed hold of the microphone, she joked with the audience; "It's OK, I know you're only standing because you feel bad that I just fell!" Good save, Jen.
Jon Hamm Miscalculates a Jump
Jon Hamm secured his place as a Hollywood A-lister after his stellar performance in 'Mad Men,' as the one-and-only Don Draper. In fact, his performance was so good that it earned him the award for Best Actor in a Drama Series at the 2015 Emmy Awards. Hamm tried to be cool and jump on stage without using the stairs, but he seemingly forgot that his suit was a bit too tight for that.
Hamm ended up having to shimmy and crawl his way up the stage, and it was all very awkward and not at all cool. Seeing Don Draper rolling onstage and trying to get up is certainly shocking.
Even Helen Mirren Can Trip and Fall
Dame Helen Mirren is considered to be one of the best actresses to ever come out of Britain. She is almost like British royalty, which is what makes it even more difficult to imagine her being anything but graceful. Alas, even royals are humans, and Mirren proved this at a film festival in Berlin a few years back. At 69 years of age, and wearing an elegant, long green dress and heels, Mirren tripped and fell over the red-carpeted stairs.
Apparently, her long dress got caught in her heels, causing her to tumble down. But this lady managed to make even a fall look graceful! Mirren joked that the heels only cost her $39, and she's worn them plenty of times, with only one casualty, so they were definitely worth the money!
Kristen Stewart Is Done With High Heels
Unless you've had the displeasure of having to walk around in high heels for an entire night, it's truly impossible to explain. This is why we completely understand why Kristen Stewart took off her Louboutin heels in the middle of the red carpet. Her feet were probably numb by that point, and she decided enough was enough.
Stewart walked the rest of the way barefoot, and even though many would argue it's not the most classy or graceful way to strut down the red carpet, we totally understand. It's better to be comfortable than in pain. Besides, she's tall enough already!
Emma Thompson Falls to the Ground
The talented Emma Thompson is a beloved British actress that has been gracing the silver screen since the ‘80s. However, despite her always looking graceful in every red carpet event, Thompson had a tumble in 2013 at the TLC Chinese Theater in Hollywood. The actress was honored by having her handprint on cement, but as she was kneeling, she lost her balance and fell to the ground.
Fortunately, she used the occasion to showcase her acting talents, making the situation even more dramatic as she sprawled all over the carpet and started laughing at herself. Now that’s a performance.
John Travolta Gets in Idina Menzel's Face
John Travolta seems to not have a very good concept of personal space. When at the 2015 Oscars, Travolta got a little too close to actress Idina Menzel and just grabbed her face! Not only that but he also completely mispronounced her name.
Nobody likes having their face touched, especially not without warning and by a stranger. Menzel tries to be a good sport and awkwardly laughs at the situation, but Travolta just keeps grabbing her chin as if to get her attention. John ended up making everybody very uncomfortable.
Stella McCartney Rips Rihanna's Dress
Rihanna is known for her beauty and very exquisite fashion tastes. For the 2014 Met Gala, the famous singer donned a gorgeous, white ensemble designed by Stella McCartney, and in an ironic twist of fate, McCartney ripped it by accident! For some reason, McCartney was lifting up her leg, but she didn't realize that the end of Rihanna's skirt had gotten caught in her heel.
The famous fashion designer had to balance herself with the help of her friend Kate Bosworth and even Rihanna herself. Otherwise, she would've ripped the entire skirt off!
Katherine Heigel's Dress Strap Comes Off
Thankfully, Katherine Heigel has a good sense of humor because if this would've happened to somebody else, they would've taken it much worse. At the 2010 Las Vegas ShoWest convention, one of the straps on her dress just broke off - completely!
As she was accepting her award for Female Star of the Year, the strap just fell down, but the actress managed to catch it right in time and simply proceeded to laugh about it and continue with her speech. Now that's making the best out of a very embarrassing situation.
Jennifer Garner Nearly Slipped Onstage
In one of her most embarrassing moments, Jennifer Garner almost fell on stage at the 2006 Oscars! The actress was walking towards the microphone to announce who had won the Oscar for Best Soundtrack when suddenly, her heels got caught in the train of her stunning cream-colored gown.
Luckily, Garner somehow managed to avoid the fall, but the expression on her face was incredibly funny and real. Seconds before she carried on reading the names on the envelope, her face was forever captured on camera.
Camila Cabello’s Horrified Face
Camila Cabello has seen quite a successful music career since leaving her former girl band, Fifth Harmony. However, she wasn't so successful at keeping her cool when she had an accident on stage at the 2019 Grammys. Unfortunately, her skirt, which was already very short, got caught around her waist, revealing far more of Cabello than she wanted.
As she acted as quickly as she could to fix the issue, she couldn't help but make a face of absolute horror and shock. And, of course, it was caught on camera. Still, the young singer managed to keep a good attitude about it and even posted a photo of it on Instagram!
Emma Thompson Tackles a Fellow Actress
Emma Thompson is not only an extremely talented actress when it comes to dramas, but she can also be incredibly hilarious. In the 2017 premiere of 'The Children Act,' in London, Thompson ran over and practically tackled fellow actress Hayley Atwell. The actress, although clearly surprised and a bit shocked, was also happy to see Thompson.
In what looked like a bear hug that went on for a few minutes, Thompson decided to milk the opportunity and act for the cameras. It almost looked like she was holding onto Atwell for dear life, but hey, Atwell doesn't seem bothered in the least. And to be honest, who would?
Nicki Minaj's Worst Nightmare
As she was performing "Bang Bang" at the Video Music Awards with Jessie J. and Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj's dress tore right down the middle! Obviously, Minaj's first instinct was to drop the microphone and hold the dress together with both her hands.
Imagine having this happen not only on stage but in a live broadcast that is being watched by millions of people around the world. This has to have been one of Minaj's worst moments ever.
Emma Stone Gets in the Way
Emma Stone has become a very beloved actress in Hollywood. Since her portrayal of the sweet Jules in 'Superbad,' she's gone on to prove her incredible talents on the big screen (La La Land, The Favourite, The Help). Also, she's established herself as a quirky, awkward, and totally down-to-earth girl. So much so that, at the 2016 Golden Globes, she was involved in a very awkward situation with La La Land director Damien Chazelle.
Stone tried to hug Damien, thinking he had all the intention of hugging her back, but as it turns out, he was actually trying to kiss his girlfriend, and the three of them ended up in a very awkward, three-way hug. Of course, Chazelle tried to make Stone less uncomfortable by brushing it off with a laugh. In fact, they shared another awkward hug as tribute later at the Venice Film Festival!
Melissa Leo’s Potty Mouth
Melissa Leo is a formidable actress, so it was no surprise when she won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2011 for her stellar performance in 'The Fighter.' Leo, who was 50 years old at the time, had a very embarrassing slip of the tongue during her acceptance speech.
The actress, who is known for being very genuine and outspoken, dropped the f-word in the middle of her speech! The gentlemanly Kirk Douglas, who had announced the award, tried to remedy the situation as best he could, but the cameras had already snapped. Leo, realizing the slip she just had, just didn't know where to put herself!
Elsa Hosk Bends Down for an Earring
Even though she always looks flawless when strutting down the runway modeling Victoria’s Secret, Swedish model Elsa Hosk had a small accident in 2019. When attending a Venice film festival, Hosk had an issue with her jewelry – one of her very expensive earrings fell onto the red carpet. Of course, Hosk couldn’t leave such an expensive piece of jewelry behind, so she decided to kneel to pick it up. All the while smiling, of course.
Now, kneeling on the red carpet to look for an earring is not exactly a classy thing to do, especially when you’re wearing stilettos and a skirt with a very big slit up to your thigh. However, Hosk managed to do all this and even put her earring back on before leaving the red carpet. Bravo, Miss Hosk.
Ariana Grande Has a Marilyn Monroe Moment
American singer Ariana Grande has been steadily climbing the celebrity ladder since 2008, performing to more and more fans with each passing show. By now, Grande is used to having thousands of cameras pointed at her, but she's not used to them capturing her in an awkward situation.
Naomi Watts Misses a Step
At the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards, the phenomenally talented cast of Alejandro G. Iñarritu's 'Birdman' won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Among the cast were Emma Stone, Amy Ryan, Edward Norton, Naomi Watts, and Zach Galifianakis. The actors got onstage, and everything was going fine, that is until Naomi approached the microphone.
When the blonde actress walked towards the mic, she clearly missed a step and almost fell flat on her face. Luckily, she managed to keep her balance and avoid disaster, but her co-stars' reaction was priceless and caught on camera.
